Another Chapman Corners Accident

The driver of this car, Linda Linder, 51, of Fair Haven, escaped serious injury June 18 when she lost control of the vehicle, eastbound on Chapman Corners Road in Wolcott, and hit a tree. Red Creek Fire Chief Andy Sharpe said Linder was the latest in a series of eight drivers in recent months to have a similar accident at the same place and hit the tree. Sharpe suspects the surface on the county-owned road becomes slick when warm temperatures are followed by rain, but Wayne County Highway Superintendent Kevin Rooney, who examined the road on June 19 could find no such evidence, in spite of the large number of accidents.

HANNIBAL – Mayor Fred Kent and two trustees were returned to the Hannibal village board in last week’s races. The trustee race was the only contested village race in Oswego County.
