Sign of Progress

RED CREEK – Sheila Martin had memories of what Red Creek once was and visions of what it could be. A new lighted sign highlighting upcoming events in the village will be dedicated in her memory  on July 4.
Lance Powell and Larry Henderson took a break from their masonry earlier this week to discuss the project.
Before her untimely death, Martin worked tirelessly towards the revitalization of Red Creek. In a fitting tribute, area residents have offered their time, expertise, goods and money to erect the sign on property Bill O’Brien offered adjacent to Sheila’s New York Pizzeria.
Area construction gurus Joe, Scott and Steve Gregg donated their time and skills and got the project going. John Viele donated electrical supplies and public donations funded the service connection from RG&E. Powell’s and Henderson’s donation; putting the final touches on the project.
It is exactly the kind of effort that would have made Martin proud. The community coming together for a common cause to benefit and showcase the village.
