LYONS - Naomi L. Perry, 87, formerly of Phelps, and Lyons Manor, died June 18, 2009 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Friends called June 21 at the Boeheim-Pusateri Funeral Home, 77 William St., Lyons. A funeral Mass was said June 22 at St. Michael’s Church in Lyons. Burial in South Lyons Cemetery. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association, Lifetime Care, Hospice or the Wayne County Nursing Home. Naomi was born in Martinsburg, W.Va. on July 28, 1921, daughter of Charles and Pearl Triggs Taylor. She had worked in her earlier years for Parker Hannifin in Lyons, in a video store in Newark and for Dobbins Drugs. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church, its Women’s Club and the Fresh Air Fund, for which she received many awards. She was involved with the Golden Agers on trips, and with the Women’s Democratic Club. Naomi was always good for a joke and a little wit that went with her. She was a foster grandparent in the Lyons school and also at St. Michael’s in Newark. Naomi is survived by: four daughters, Bonnie L. (David) Reynolds of Lyons, Patti (Tom) Drensch of Vestal, Toni (Wayne) Lashway and Eva (Steve) Hyatt, both of Long Boat Key, Fla.; two sons, John of Charleston, S.C. and Frank (Mary) of Rockville, Md.; 15 grandchildren, Gina, Emily, Zachary, Matthew, Luke, Naomi, Jackie, Jessie, Ryan, Kelsey, Michael, Natalie, Jack, Jared and Jordan; nine great-grandchildren; sister Marie Sowers of W. Va.; four brothers, Hubert, Douglas, Robert and John Taylor of W.Va.; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1987 and sisters Mary and Edith and brothers Russell, Charles and Harvey.
