 WOLCOTT - Walter F. Hill, 92, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010. Predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen C. Hill, brothers and sisters Winifred Wheeler, George Hill, Dr. Norman Hill and Delia Miller. Survived by their four children: Leon (Valentina) of Fairport, Daniel (Donna) Hill of Clyde, Marvin of Albany and Judith (Gregg) Cavagnaro of Depew, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. First Lieutenant Walter F. Hill served in the Army Air Force as a combat pilot during World War II in the 5th Air Force, 312th Bomb Group, flying A-20 Havoc and B-25 Billy Mitchell’s in New Guinea and the Philippines. Returning from the war, he operated a family dairy farm and was an active member in the Clyde United Methodist Church. In 1976, they sold the dairy farm, moving to Wolcott where they retired. Family and friends called Jan. 29 at the Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons. A funeral service was held Jan. 30 at Faith United Methodist Church in Wolcott. Burial will be in Huron Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Faith United Methodist Church, or to the Wayne County Nursing Activity Fund, 1529 Nye Road, Lyons, N.Y. 14489.
