ROCHESTER/LYONS - Gary Clyde Stevens of Caroline Street, Rochester, age 77, died Jan. 26, 2010.
A memorial service was held Jan. 29 at Boeheim-Pusateri Funeral Home, 77 William St., Lyons. Burial in South Lyons Cemetery. Gary was born in Olean May 26, 1932, son of Cecil and Bernice Hannigan Stevens. He was a prisoner of war for 34 months in Korea and he served in the Army. He was a member of VFW Post 307 of Rochester. He was a millwright for local union 1163. Special thank you goes to Dr. Palis of Rochester VA and Joy for the wonderful care given to Gary and his family.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Donna Contario Stevens, stepson Benjamin (Brooke) Burkins of Rochester; grandchildren Anthony, Camden and Haden; sister Sandy of Arizona; brothers Cecil Jr. and Raymond of Elmira. His wife’s family, the Contarios, lived in the Lyons and Newark area for many years.
